An Open Letter to Self

It’s time to move forward in life and break free from the walls you have built within your mind.


Dear Self,

This is the start of something new. Something terrifying. You are opening up, whether anyone reads these doesn’t matter. You have tried writing your thoughts in millions of notebooks, but you are still left with an empty feeling. A feeling that even though you have written your thoughts down, they have gone no where. They continue to eat you up. So why not try a new form and see how it makes you feel…

It’s hard to let things go when all you have ever known is to internalize things until you no longer feel like you are living. To allow yourself to open up to the people around is impossible due to the fear that they will perceive you differently, treat you differently. You are still the same person regardless but saying it to yourself isn’t so easy. Realizing these things are even harder. Especially when people look at some of the smaller issues you voice as if they are the easiest thing to deal with.

With anxiety it isn’t easy but if you are determined, things will change and it all starts in the mind. Maybe… No, one day you will be able to voice these things. When you finally can break away from the fear… you feel all the weight lifted off your shoulders. Be able to breath and feel as if you are among the living.

Although it’s just the start of moving forward remember you are strong, you are beautiful and you will break free of the walls you built.
